PERMANENT PART-TIME LIVE-OUT HOUSEKEEPER COOK JOB

HARBORNE | BIRMINGHAM | GB

SALARY: FROM £20 PER HOUR GROSS (SELF-EMPLOYED)

Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a wonderful opportunity for an experienced, warm, and genuinely proactive Housekeeper-Cook to join a lovely young family in the Harborne area of Birmingham. This is a relaxed, welcoming household comprising a professional couple — both working in medicine — who are expecting their first child and are looking to establish good household routines ahead of this exciting new chapter.
The family live in a modern, four-bedroom detached home and are looking for a genuinely proactive professional who can independently assess what a home needs and take initiative accordingly — someone with the instinctive "eye" that comes from years of genuine private household experience. The role combines a balanced mix of comprehensive housekeeping and confident home cooking, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation throughout.
Working within this household is a genuinely rewarding role for the right candidate — a calm, orderly, and appreciative environment where thoughtful, proactive contributions are clearly valued. The family are warm, considerate, and flexible, and are open to building a long-term working relationship with the right professional.
Type: Permanent, Part-Time, Self-Employed

The Duties:
  • Empty and reload the dishwasher, wash any remaining dishes, and keep the kitchen clean and tidy throughout
  • Wipe down kitchen worktops, the dining table, and high-touch surfaces
  • General tidying, keeping the home clean, organised, and consistently presentable
  • Household laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing (where required), and putting clothes away
  • Washing and changing bed linen as required
  • Sterilising and organising baby bottles, pump parts, and feeding equipment (once the baby arrives)
  • Baby laundry, including muslins, bibs, sleep sacks, and bedding, and maintaining a clean, organised nursery
  • Emptying household bins and recycling as needed
  • Restocking household essentials such as toiletries, kitchen supplies, and cleaning products, and flagging low stock levels to the family
  • Preparing family meals using recipe kits such as Gousto or HelloFresh (or similar meal plans), and storing leftovers appropriately
