A wonderful opportunity has become available for a professional and reliable part-time Housekeeper/Cook to support a warm and welcoming married couple in maintaining their beautiful private residence located in Levington, just outside Ipswich in Suffolk. The role would suit a self-employed, proactive individual who is highly organised, dependable, and takes pride in providing practical household assistance with minimal supervision.
Levington is a charming village situated on the River Orwell, close to the vibrant town of Ipswich. Surrounded by the peaceful Suffolk countryside and with easy access to the A14, the area is ideal for candidates who enjoy a serene working environment while remaining well connected to nearby amenities.
The chosen candidate will be entrusted with light housekeeping and organisational duties, along with occasional basic cooking and pet care. Flexibility is key, as the Principals are seeking someone who can adapt to their routines while offering initiative and discretion in managing the household's daily needs. Pet care will involve caring for the couple’s cats and pigeons, including feeding and occasional assistance with vet visits or supervision during the Principals' absence.
This position also involves occasional errands, coordination of household maintenance tasks, and occasional chauffeuring to appointments. A valid driving licence is essential, although a vehicle will not be provided initially. In return, the Principals offer a peaceful working atmosphere, consistent support, and a potential bonus of a subsidised gym membership after three months of employment.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook:
- Light housekeeping: dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, tidying, and general upkeep
- Stock management: maintaining household supplies, shopping lists, and restocking
- Pantry and fridge organisation, recycling
- Light meal preparation (occasional)
- Running errands: pharmacy, local shops, etc.
- Basic pet care: feeding, light play, and occasional vet visits
- Overseeing pets during Principals’ travel
- Coordinating household maintenance and scheduling tradespeople
- Organising car maintenance
- Occasionally driving Principals to medical or social appointments
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Ability to work on a self-employed basis
- Conversational level of English
