Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a professional, discreet, and proactive Housekeeper/Cook to join a welcoming retired couple in their beautiful private home located in the peaceful rural village of Ellenhall, near Stafford, Staffordshire. The principals are a retired couple seeking a reliable and initiative-driven cleaner / housekeeper who can confidently manage the day-to-day upkeep of their home. Surrounded by attractive Staffordshire countryside, Ellenhall offers a peaceful setting while remaining within easy reach of Stafford and neighbouring market towns. This position would suit a self employed Housekeeper/Cook who enjoys working independently, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is looking for a long-term (par time) role within a calm and appreciative household.
This is a permanent, part-time, live-out position offering approximately 20 hours per week across four working days, with flexible start times to suit both the household and the successful candidate (essential for being self employed). Due to the rural location of the property, a full driving licence and own car are must have. Working as a Housekeeper/Cook within this household involves taking ownership of cleaning duties while preparing simple batch-cooked family meals and occasional meal preparation. The successful candidate will maintain good housekeeping standards, ensure the home remains organised and fully stocked, care for specialist household surfaces (marble / wood), and confidently identify tasks without requiring constant guidance.
Responsibilities include comprehensive housekeeping, laundry, ironing, basic tidying and putting away of clothes, batch cooking simple family-style meals, organising pantry, monitoring household supplies, accepting deliveries, and reporting maintenance issues when required. The family is looking for a discreet, professional, and self-motivated Housekeeper/Cook who takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautifully organised home and can work efficiently using their own initiative.

Main duties of this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook:
- Basic cleaning and upkeep of a two-storey family home
- Daily housekeeping alongside scheduled deep cleaning of household areas requiring attention
- Laundry, ironing, linen care, and basic folding and putting away of clothes
- Changing and rotating bed linen and towels
- Organising cupboards, pantry, and household spaces
- Keeping kitchens clean and organised
- Accepting deliveries and unpacking groceries
- Monitoring household essentials and informing the principals of required purchases when needed
- Preparing simple batch-cooked family meals and occasional meal preparation
- Care and maintenance of delicate household surfaces including marble, natural stone, wood, and silver
- Reporting maintenance issues
- Maintaining excellent household presentation and ensuring the home runs smoothly
- Working independently, proactively, and with minimal supervision at all times
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- Three or more years of private Housekeeper experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Fluent English
- Own Car is Essential
