Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a professional, experienced and detail-oriented Live-In Housekeeper Cook to join a warm and respectful family based in Manchester. This is a permanent, full-time position within a well-organised private household, offering long-term stability in a calm and structured environment.
The property is a well-maintained six-bedroom residence set across three floors. The household consists of two principals and two adult children, with additional adult family members visiting on occasion. The family is notably tidy, ensuring a steady and manageable workload, supported by the presence of another full-time Housekeeper. The previous Housekeeper remained with the family for 10 years, reflecting the positive and respectful working environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping, including cleaning, laundry and organisation, as well as preparing healthy, home-style meals for the family. A good understanding of Indian cuisine is strongly preferred, with consideration required for dietary preferences, including vegetarian meals and no beef preparation. The role also involves managing household supplies, grocery shopping and ensuring the kitchen, including marble and granite surfaces, is properly maintained.
The family travels on a monthly basis, providing the opportunity for deep cleaning and organisation projects. The environment is informal yet professional, and the family rarely entertains, ensuring a consistent daily routine.

Working Days: 5 days per week (one day off during the week + Sunday off)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Languages: English (Punjabi is a bonus)
Driving Licence: Required (own vehicle needed; on-site parking available)
Main duties of the Housekeeper/ Cook:
- Maintaining the property to a high standard, including cleaning, dusting, hoovering and organisation
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe management
- Preparing healthy, balanced meals for the family
- Cooking vegetarian meals for one family member and avoiding beef in all meal preparation
- Applying knowledge of Indian cuisine (preferred)
- Maintaining kitchen surfaces, including marble and granite, with appropriate care
- Grocery shopping and restocking household and cleaning supplies
- Assisting with general household organisation and smooth day-to-day operations
- Supporting deep cleaning projects during the family’s travel periods
- Working collaboratively with another full-time Housekeeper
Requirements for this Housekeeper/ Cook job:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- Valid UK work permit
