Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a professional, physically fit Housekeeper/Cook with highly developed communicative skills to join a welcoming private family household in Wimbledon, London. The household comprises two adult principals and two teenage children, and the family are seeking a reliable professional who can provide consistent housekeeping support while also contributing to the family’s meals. Wimbledon is a highly desirable area of southwest London, known for its attractive residential surroundings, green spaces, excellent amenities, and convenient transport connections. The family are looking for a good cook who is also open to learning from the principal and developing their cooking skills within the household.

This is a permanent, full-time, live-out position working Monday to Friday for approximately 33 hours per week, with some additional hours available each week. The role offers a structured weekday routine within a friendly family home and would suit a Housekeeper/Cook who enjoys combining practical housekeeping with cooking. The property is easily accessible by public transport, making it convenient for commuting. The successful candidate will ideally have previous cooking experience, good communication skills, and a practical, organised approach to their work. The position is offered on a self-employed basis.

Working as a Housekeeper/Cook in this household involves maintaining the home to a high standard while supporting the family with everyday meals and kitchen routines. Responsibilities include regular cleaning throughout the four-floor, five-bedroom property, laundry and ironing, basic wardrobe organisation, household organisation, managing deliveries and keeping household supplies and the refrigerator well stocked. The role also includes preparing and cooking family meals, cleaning the kitchen after cooking and meals, and occasional babysitting support when required. This is a hands-on position suited to a proactive and physically fit professional who takes pride in their work and is happy to learn and work closely with the principal in the kitchen.

Main duties of this Full-Time Housekeeper/Cook:

Regular cleaning and upkeep of the four-floor, five-bedroom family home
Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and maintaining all household areas
Cleaning and maintaining bathrooms to a high standard
Maintaining bedrooms, living areas, and other household spaces
Cleaning and organising the kitchen after cooking and family meals
Preparing and cooking family-style meals to a good standard
Working alongside the principal and being willing to learn their preferred cooking methods and recipes
Laundry, ironing, folding, and putting clothing and household items away
Basic wardrobe management, including folding, organising, and putting clothing away
Assisting with seasonal wardrobe organisation when required
Maintaining general household organisation and tidiness
Accepting household deliveries and unpacking and putting items away appropriately
Monitoring household supplies and ensuring essential products are available
Checking food supplies and ensuring the refrigerator remains well stocked
Checking food and household products and ensuring items are within their use-by dates
Keeping kitchen cupboards, storage areas, and household spaces organised
Providing occasional babysitting support when required
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the family home
Working proactively and independently while communicating effectively with the family
