Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a lovely opportunity for a professional, proactive, and family-friendly Housekeeper/Cook to join a welcoming private household in Haringey, North London. The household comprises two adult principals and two young children, aged five and one, and the family is seeking a reliable Housekeeper/Cook to provide practical support during the children's after-school hours. Haringey is a popular North London area, offering a good selection of local amenities, green spaces, and excellent transport connections, making it a convenient location for a local Housekeeper/Cook.
This is a permanent, part-time, live-out position offering approximately 13–15 hours per week across 3 to 5 working days, depending on the successful candidate's availability. The working day starts at around 4:00pm, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking regular afternoon and early evening hours. A cleaner is employed by the family for the main cleaning, so the Housekeeper/Cook will focus on maintaining general tidiness and cleanliness, alongside preparing simple, fresh family meals.
Working as a Housekeeper/Cook in this household involves providing practical afternoon support as the children return from school and nursery, keeping the home tidy and organised, and preparing the family's evening meal. Duties include light housekeeping such as hoovering, dusting, tidying after meals, laundry and ironing, changing bed linen, and keeping children's areas neat and presentable. Cooking is an important part of the position, with the successful candidate preparing simple family-style meals for the household and, where time allows, some batch cooking for days when they are not working. This is a friendly and manageable role suited to a proactive, flexible professional who enjoys working around young children and is confident preparing everyday family food.

Main duties of this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook:
- Light housekeeping and daily upkeep of the family home
- Hoovering, dusting and maintaining general household cleanliness
- Tidying living areas and children's spaces throughout the afternoon
- Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, particularly after meals
- Preparing fresh family-style meals for the principals and children
- Supporting with occasional batch cooking when time allows
- Laundry, ironing and general clothing care
- Changing and rotating bed linen and towels
- Keeping household areas organised and presentable
- Tidying up after the children and maintaining a pleasant home environment
- Providing practical support during the children's after-school hours
- Working proactively and using initiative to identify household tasks
- Being flexible and adapting to the family's daily requirements
- Working confidently and positively around young children
- Maintaining a warm, professional and reliable approach at all times
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- Three or more years of private Housekeeper experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- Valid UK working permit
- DBS Check
