A lovely family in Bromley, London, is seeking an experienced Temporary Live-in Housekeeper/Cook to provide cover for their established household while their current Housekeeper/Cook is temporarily unavailable. The assignment is expected to last for a minimum of three weeks, with the possibility of an extension depending on the family's requirements.

The household comprises one principal and her two children, one of whom is not always resident, together with an elderly relative. The role is full-time, working five days per week, generally from approximately 8:00am to 6:00pm. Any additional hours worked as overtime will be paid separately. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily housekeeping of frequently used rooms, general maintenance cleaning, laundry and ironing, wardrobe care including delicate and fine garments, and the preparation of simple, healthy and nutritious family meals. A cleaner also attends the property twice a week to assist with deep cleaning and heavier household tasks, allowing the Housekeeper/Cook to focus on the daily running of the home, family support and other household responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be provided with private live-in accommodation, including a bedroom with an en suite bathroom on a separate floor, offering a comfortable degree of privacy while remaining accessible to the household when required.

The role also includes occasional errands such as grocery shopping and dry-cleaning collection, and liaising with the PA or relevant household contacts regarding maintenance and contractor visits. Main Duties of the Temporary Live-in Housekeeper/Cook:

Carry out all general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming and maintaining order throughout the house
Maintain the frequently used areas of the property to a consistently high standard
Manage laundry and ironing, including the care of delicate fabrics and fine garments
Organise wardrobes and assist with seasonal wardrobe changes
Prepare simple, healthy and nutritious dinners and occasional lunches for the family
Run household errands, including grocery shopping, dry-cleaning collection and household supply runs
Maintain a friendly, respectful and discreet presence around the elderly resident
Liaise with the PA and relevant household contacts regarding maintenance and contractor visits
Work independently and proactively while following the established routines of the household

Requirements for this Temporary Live-in Housekeeper/Cook Job:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant private housekeeping and cooking experience
Previous experience working within a private family household
Confident with general housekeeping, laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
Able to prepare simple, healthy family meals
Comfortable working around an elderly resident
Full and clean driving licence
Legal right to work in the UK
Good level of English
Two excellent and checkable references
Available to start as soon as possible
Flexibility to commit to a minimum three-week temporary assignment, with potential for an extension
