A lovely family in Bromley, London, is seeking an experienced Live-in Housekeeper/Cook. The household comprises one principal and her two children — one of which who is not always resident— alongside an elderly relative. The role requires a respectful, discreet, and adaptable professional to maintain a warm, welcoming environment. The previous housekeeper has served the family for over ten years and is retiring, leaving a well-managed home with established routines.
The ideal candidate will be child- and elderly-friendly, with excellent domestic management skills, able to run errands, manage laundry and wardrobe care for fine fabrics, and prepare simple, nutritious meals for the family.
Bromley is a leafy, family-oriented area in South London, offering excellent schools, local amenities, and convenient transport links into Central London. The property itself is a spacious seven-bedroom house spread across three floors. The successful candidate will have private accommodation, including a bedroom with en suite bathroom on a separate floor, ensuring comfort and privacy while remaining accessible to the household as required.
The role is live-in and involves four full working days per week, from 7:30am to 6:30pm, providing approximately 44 hours weekly. Duties include daily housekeeping of frequently used rooms and maintenance cleaning of others, wardrobe management and laundry for the household, and preparation of healthy, simple meals. The household also employs a cleaner who attends the property twice a week, assisting with deep cleaning and heavier tasks, which lightens the daily workload for the full-time professional.
The Housekeeper/Cook will be responsible for school runs for the teenager, occasional errands such as dry cleaning and shopping, and liaising with the PA to arrange household maintenance or contractor visits.
The position requires an organised, proactive, and personable individual who can work independently while maintaining a professional and approachable presence in the home.

Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper/Cook:
- Carry out all general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and maintaining order throughout the house
- Manage laundry and ironing, including care of delicate fabrics and fine garments, wardrobe organisation, and seasonal changes
- Prepare simple, healthy, and nutritious meals for the family
- Run errands such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning collection, and household supply runs
- Conduct school runs for the 15-year-old child and provide occasional support when the adult child is in residence
- Maintain a friendly and respectful environment for the elderly resident
- Liaise with the PA or relevant household contacts to schedule maintenance or contractor visits
Requirements for this Full -Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant private housekeeping and cooking experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Conversational level of English
- A driving license
