Job Overview:
A welcoming and informal family of two adults and three children (aged 10 years, almost 3 years, and 3 months) based in Chislehurst are seeking a reliable and proactive Housekeeper/Cook to provide consistent daily support within their private residence. The role is primarily focused on high-standard housekeeping and confident family cooking, offering a stable, long-term opportunity within a respectful household environment.
The property is a well-maintained two-floor home comprising five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and one additional WC, featuring quality finishes including marble surfaces. The fifth bedroom is located within a separate annex occupied by the client’s father, where only occasional light cleaning and upkeep will be required.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for maintaining excellent presentation throughout the home, including thorough cleaning of all areas, kitchen upkeep, unloading the dishwasher, clearing after meals, tidying bedrooms, and ensuring belongings are organised and returned to their proper places. Additional duties will include managing the cat litter tray and guinea pig cage, occasional dog walking for a small and friendly Cockapoo, and light interior car cleaning.
Laundry and wardrobe management will form an important part of the role. This includes washing, careful separation of garments, hand-washing where required, hanging, ironing where necessary, and ensuring clothing is stored appropriately. Attention to detail and respect for fabrics is essential.
A key element of the position is meal preparation for the adults. The family enjoy healthy, flavourful cuisine, with a preference for French and Italian dishes, and one adult follows a vegetarian diet. Strong knowledge of balanced and nutritious cooking is therefore required. Meals may be prepared in advance and reheated as needed, and confident culinary skills are essential.
The role also includes running household errands such as grocery shopping, managing supplies, handling parcels, and dry cleaning. While this is not a nanny position, the candidate must be child-friendly and comfortable working around children, with occasional informal interaction welcomed. No professional childcare duties are expected.
The schedule will be Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 1:00pm. The offered salary is £20–£30 gross per hour, depending on experience. The home is easily accessible by public transport; a driving licence and use of a personal vehicle would be considered an advantage but are not essential. English language proficiency is sufficient for the role.

Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper / Cook job:
