Perfect Household Staff is pleased to present a warm and welcoming full-time opportunity for an experienced Housekeeper/Cook to join a large, informal family household based in the historic spa town of Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The principals—both busy professionals—reside in a beautiful family home with their five school-aged children and require the support of a reliable, trustworthy and child-friendly professional to manage the home with confidence and care. With the children at school during the day and the principals working from home three days a week, this position will suit a candidate who is proactive, warm-natured, and genuinely loves their work. The family are friendly, appreciative, and respectful of their staff, and are looking to welcome someone into their home on a long-term basis.
The residence is elegantly furnished and features antiques, which will require respectful and informed care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a busy family environment, demonstrating initiative and consistency in their work. This live-out role offers excellent public transport links to central Tunbridge Wells, making it a highly commutable position for candidates based locally or in surrounding areas.
As a Housekeeper/Cook, you will be responsible for maintaining the household’s day-to-day cleanliness and organisation, managing laundry for the entire family, and preparing family-style evening meals. Occasional batch cooking would be appreciated. Your ability to take ownership of the home’s upkeep and contribute positively to the household dynamic will be greatly valued.
This is a formally employed position offering the standard 28 days of paid holiday per annum (inclusive of bank holidays), in line with UK employment regulations.

Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper/Cook:
- Daily general housekeeping duties including cleaning, tidying, and maintaining the household to a high standard
- Careful handling and cleaning of antiques and delicate furnishings
- Daily family laundry and ironing for five children and two adults
- Changing and refreshing bed linens and towels as required
- Cooking wholesome family-style dinners using fresh ingredients
- Occasional batch cooking for freezer storage
- Keeping the kitchen hygienic and well-organised at all times
- Ensuring household supplies are maintained and replenished when necessary
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Checkable references
- UK working permit
- Driving license (bonus)
