Job Overview:
Perfect Household Staff is looking for a housekeeper cook for a wonderful family of four, comprising two adults and two children aged three and five. The family resides in a semi-detached, three-storey house in Weald, Sevenoaks. The property consists of four bedrooms and four bathrooms, the household also has two cats.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation throughout the home.
Duties will include classical housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining all living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen, dusting surfaces, vacuuming and mopping floors, sanitising bathroom and kitchen areas, wiping surfaces, emptying bins, and ensuring the household remains tidy and well maintained. The role focuses exclusively on general household cleaning and upkeep, and therefore does not include responsibilities such as wardrobe management or specialist household administration.
In addition to housekeeping, the candidate will assist the family with weekly food preparation. This will involve preparing ingredients and components in advance for the week, following a provided recipe list and shopping list supplied by the family. The preparation will primarily include tasks such as making sauces, pre-cooking vegetables, and preparing simple items that will allow the parents to quickly assemble meals when they return home from work. Some light breakfast preparation may also be required, such as preparing items like overnight oats or simple baked goods for the children. The family enjoys a diet that includes a significant amount of vegan food, therefore familiarity with plant-based ingredients and basic vegan food preparation would be beneficial, although the family is not strictly vegan. Groceries are typically ordered online by the family, so grocery shopping will generally not be required.
The role will require approximately eight working hours per week. This may be arranged either as one eight-hour day per week or split into two separate four-hour days. If two days are agreed, they should not be consecutive and must remain consistent each week to allow the family to plan their schedule accordingly. Working hours should fall within normal daytime hours, starting no earlier than 8:00 a.m. and finishing by 5:00 p.m.
The position is live-out and offered on a self-employed basis. The family offers a salary in the range of £20 to £25 gross per hour, depending on experience. Driving may be required due to the location of the property. The household follows a shoes-off policy indoors and values a trustworthy, punctual and organised professional who can work independently and maintain a high standard within the home.

Live out Housekeeper / Cook duties may include:
- Performing classical housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, and wiping surfaces
- Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, kitchen areas, and household surfaces
- Maintaining overall cleanliness and organisation of the four-bedroom family home
- Ensuring living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms remain tidy and well presented
- Emptying bins and carrying out routine household cleaning tasks
- Preparing weekly food components following the family’s recipe list
- Pre-cooking vegetables and preparing sauces for easy meal assembly
- Preparing simple breakfast items such as overnight oats or similar dishes for the children
- Supporting preparation of predominantly vegan-style food
- Cleaning kitchen surfaces, utensils, and appliances after food preparation
- Working efficiently and independently within the allocated weekly hours
- Respecting the household’s shoes-off policy
- Driving to the property if required due to the location
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper / Cook job:
- 3 years of Housekeeper experience
- Strong cooking skills
- Fluent in English
- Checkable references
- UK working permit
- DBS check
