Perfect Household Staff is pleased to introduce a permanent, long-term position for an experienced and dependable part-time live-in Housekeeper/Cook within a private residence located in Aston, close to Stevenage, East Hertfordshire. The principals are looking to appoint a professional, discreet and adaptable individual who can uphold high domestic standards and work autonomously as part of a small, well-established household team. This role offers high-quality accommodation alongside the security of long-term employment.

The successful candidate will be provided with a self-contained three-bedroom house on the premises, with all utility bills and council tax fully covered by the employer. Comparable three-bedroom rental properties in the Aston / Stevenage area typically command in excess of £1,500 per month, representing a substantial non-taxable benefit in addition to the offered salary.

Aston is a village located close to Stevenage in East Hertfordshire, offering a peaceful setting with convenient access to local amenities. Due to the location of the property, a driving licence would be beneficial. The household is also staffed with a gardener and a PA, ensuring clear structure and support. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Housekeeper/Cook who takes genuine pride in their work and is comfortable working independently within a private household environment. The role will involve maintaining the cleanliness, organisation and smooth day-to-day running of the home, alongside preparing and cooking evening meals for the principals only. The cooking requirements are straightforward, with dinners prepared and served at a pre-agreed time.

A flexible approach is essential during times when the principals are away. During these periods, the Housekeeper/Cook will be required to stay at the property, including weekends, to oversee the residence and attend to light house-sitting and pet care responsibilities, including feeding the cats and exercising the dogs. This role would be well suited to an individual who prioritises long-term stability, appreciates a tranquil working environment, and is seeking a permanent live-in position within a considerate and well-organised household.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook:

General housekeeping duties to a high standard
Cleaning, laundry and ironing
Maintaining organisation and cleanliness throughout the household
Preparing and cooking evening meals for the principals only
Serving dinner at a pre-agreed time
Basic pet care, including feeding cats and walking two medium-sized dogs when the family is travelling
House-sitting and remaining on the premises during weekends when required

Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant private housekeeping experience
Two excellent checkable references
Legal right to work in the UK
Conversational level of English
A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle would be beneficial
