The household comprises two adults and a small child, along with an affectionate Hungarian Vizsla dog. The home is a 4-bedroom detached property in the centre of the village, and the family run their household in a relaxed and organised manner. This is a self-employed position, suited to a candidate who enjoys taking initiative and seeing what needs to be done in an independent manner.
This live-out, part-time role involves two morning shifts per week, totaling 10 hours, with duties scheduled across the week so that every working day is completely manageable. Core responsibilities include basic laundry and wardrobe management, regular tidying and house resets, occasional deep cleaning, kitchen area organisation projects, and simple batch cooking of comfort home meals, typically 1–2 dishes prepared to cover the week ahead. The position requires an own car, as the property is in a rural location and is easily accessible only by car.
Working as a Housekeeper/Cook in this household involves maintaining the day-to-day running of the home in a practical and supportive way. Main duties of this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook:
- Laundry: washing, drying, folding, ironing, putting away, linen/towel rotation, wardrobe organisation
- Daily and weekly tidying, house resets of kitchen, living areas, bedrooms, and toys
- Light cleaning between deep cleans (bathroom wipe-downs, kitchen surfaces, floors, bins, high-touch areas)
- Occasional deep cleaning and specialist marble care
- Organisation projects: cupboards, pantry, fridge rotation, seasonal sorting
- Household errands and admin support (returns, post office, receiving deliveries, being in for tradespeople if required)
- Shopping support (in-person or managing online orders and putting away)
- Simple meal prep: batch cooking 1–2 comfort dishes per week for freezing
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- Three of more years of private Housekeeper experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- Valid UK working permit
- An own car is essential
