This position would suit an experienced Housekeeper / Cook who takes genuine pride in maintaining exceptionally high household standards and enjoys preparing fresh, healthy meals for the family.
The household is fully staffed, and the successful professional will work alongside other long-standing staff members (including two other housekeepers) in a collaborative and professional environment.
The role will consist primarily of housekeeping duties combined with cooking responsibilities for the household. The successful professional will be responsible for maintaining the property to an immaculate standard at all times, ensuring all areas of the residence remain beautifully presented and exceptionally organised.
Housekeeping duties will include detailed cleaning, daily tidying and organisation of all living areas, laundry and ironing to a high professional standard, wardrobe management, changing bed linen, preparing guest bedrooms, and caring for delicate fabrics, antiques, fine furnishings, and specialist surfaces. The role will also involve monitoring household supplies, maintaining stock levels, assisting with occasional household errands, and coordinating efficiently with other household staff to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the residence.
The ideal professional will possess excellent housekeeping and laundry skills gained within private households, together with strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational ability. Previous experience caring for luxury interiors and high-end household items is essential, alongside a proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work. Professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are all highly important for this position.
The cooking element of the role will involve preparing fresh, nutritious, and well-balanced meals for the principals as required by the household. The family enjoys healthy home-style cooking using fresh seasonal ingredients, and the successful professional should be confident preparing a variety of dishes including healthy family-style meals, European and Mediterranean cuisine, soups, salads, fish, meat, and vegetable dishes. The role may also involve preparing light lunches, informal suppers, and occasional casual entertaining. The ability to adapt meals and menus according to the family’s preferences and dietary requirements whilst maintaining high presentation standards will be highly appreciated.
The typical working week will be Friday to Tuesday inclusive, with Wednesday and Thursday provided as usual rest days. Working hours will be discussed directly with the successful professional during the interview process.

Live out Housekeeper / Cook duties may include:
Housekeeping Duties:
- Maintaining the main house and staff areas to an exceptional standard at all times, ensuring consistent presentation across all rooms
- Carrying out full housekeeping duties across bedrooms, bathrooms, reception rooms, kitchens, and offices
- Caring for fine furnishings, antiques, artwork, rugs, silverware, crystal, and household linens
- Managing laundry care including washing, ironing, pressing, wardrobe organisation, and linen management
- Ensuring overall property presentation is consistently immaculate and guest-ready
- Supporting shoot days and estate events through practical housekeeping assistance and preparation of key areas
- Liaising with contractors and service providers to support maintenance and household upkeep
- Running errands and undertaking off-site trips as required due to the rural location
- Providing daily care for household and estate dogs, including feeding, walking, exercising, and general wellbeing
- Ensuring safe and effective handling of pets during busy household periods, including guests, contractors, and estate activities
- Driving confidently for household purposes, including errands, appointments, and rural logistics using a provided vehicle
- Preparing daily meals to a high standard (formal and informal) using fresh, seasonal produce
- Planning menus in consultation with the principals and household manager
- Catering for family members, guests, and increased household numbers during busy periods
- Assisting with catering and service during shoot days and estate events as required
- Maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene, food safety standards, and equipment care
- Managing food stocks, sourcing ingredients locally, receiving deliveries, and overseeing agreed kitchen budgets

Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper / Cook job:
- Minimum 3 years’ Housekeeper / Cook experience within private households
- Confident family cooking skills with the ability to prepare fresh, healthy meals
- Confident driver with a valid driving licence
- Fluent English communication skills

- Valid UK working permit
