Working as a Housekeeper Cook in a private household requires a balanced approach between culinary skills and general housekeeping duties. In this role, the primary focus will be on preparing simple, home-style meals for the couple, with particular attention to vegetarian cooking, as the lady of the house follows a vegetarian diet. The successful candidate should be open and willing to learn new recipes directly from the principal. While a cleaner is already employed for general upkeep, the Housekeeper Cook should be flexible and prepared to assist with cleaning, laundry, and ironing when required. This is a live-out position located in a well-connected area of Essex, making it easily accessible by public transport and convenient for commuting candidates.
Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper Cook:
- Preparing simple, home-style meals for the couple on a daily basis.
- Learning and preparing vegetarian dishes as guided by the lady of the house.
- Planning and organising meals in line with the family’s preferences.
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times.
- Assisting with light housekeeping duties when required, including cleaning, laundry, and ironing.
- Supporting the smooth running of the household with a flexible and pro-active approach.
- Demonstrating willingness to learn and adapt to the principals’ preferences and routines.
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper Cook job:
- Three or more years of private housekeeper cook experience.
- Two excellent checkable references.
- Conversational English.
- UK working permit.
