The role of a Housekeeper Cook in a private household is a varied and rewarding profession. It combines traditional housekeeping duties with the preparation of healthy and nourishing meals, supporting both the principals and their young children. A successful candidate will take pride in keeping the home clean, tidy, and well-organised, whilst also managing laundry, ironing, stock control, and grocery shopping. In addition, preparing family meals, children’s snacks, and lunchboxes will be a central aspect of the position.

Main duties of the Housekeeper Cook:
- Carrying out all housekeeping duties to a high standard, including cleaning, laundry, and ironing
- Ensuring all rooms are kept tidy, organised, and presentable
- Weekly grocery shopping both online and in person, as required
- Preparing and cooking family meals, as well as children’s snacks, lunchboxes, and batch meals
- Overseeing organisation of the children’s school uniforms, sports kits, and bags in advance
- Preparing essentials for the following day, including school items, meals, and work-related items for the principals
- Running errands – a driving licence and car are essential, with mileage reimbursed
- Offering flexibility and a child-friendly approach within the family home
Requirements for this Housekeeper Cook job:
- Three or more years of relevant experience
- At least 2 excellent, checkable references
- Conversational level of English
- UK working permit
- Driving licence and own car essential for errands (fuel expenses reimbursed)
