Perfect Household Staff is offering a fantastic full-time live-in housekeeper / cook opportunity in Coastal Devon. The family consists of the principal, along with grown-up children. They are in need of a professional housekeeper / cook who is confident in all aspects of housekeeping, capable of cleaning and caring for the home to a very high standard with great attention to detail, and enjoys cooking and preparing healthy food.

We are searching for a dedicated professional who is organized, warm, friendly, and happy to be flexible (while proper time off in lieu and holidays will, of course, be included), and is looking for a long-term commitment.
The right candidate will be responsible for the overall cleaning of the 10-bedroom fully operational medieval estate. There are working dogs on the estate, but no pets at the house.
Duties will include daily and deep cleaning of the household, ensuring it is always tidy and presentable, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining all areas of the house. The full-time housekeeper / cook will also handle wardrobe management, laundry, ironing, organizing cupboards, and ensuring that the home is consistently well presented and cared for.
The role includes cooking, and the chosen candidate should be a keen and experienced cook, providing family-style, Mediterranean-inspired healthy meals, occasionally using game from the estate and produce from the vegetable garden.
The principal is in residence around 40-50% of the time and will have his adult children and guests regularly too. Therefore, the usual working hours will be 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. When the owner is in residence, the housekeeper is expected to work flexible days and hours, including weekends, with time off scheduled later to compensate.
During the principal's residence, the housekeeper / cook should prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When there are guests, the candidate would be expected to cook for groups for all these meals, with time off in the afternoon.
The high season starts from October to early December when the household is full, and the principal regularly hosts his adult children and guests (up to 20 people). During this time, the housekeeper / cook will have extra help to clean the house and serve meals.
A separate 2-bedroom cottage with its own entrance and paid bills, near the main house, will be provided for the right candidate.
