Job Overview:
A lovely family with two young children is seeking a proactive, child-friendly Live-Out Housekeeper/Cook to work 35 hours per week, Monday to Thursday. The family reside in a spacious property with converted outbuildings and employ a full-time nanny.
While childcare is not required, the chosen candidate must be confident around children and provide occasional light support, such as preparing breakfast or snacks before school.
This position is ideal for a meticulous, well-organised professional who takes pride in maintaining high housekeeping standards, can confidently manage weekly grocery shopping and food preparation, and is able to follow routines and recipes consistently.
A driver with their own vehicle is essential due to the need for local errands and food shopping.

Job Details:
- Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Live-Out
- Working Days: Monday to Thursday
- Working Hours: 35 hours/week; 7am–4pm or 8am–5pm, depending on candidate preference
- Salary: £18 – £20 gross per hour
- Language: English
- Location: Neston, Cheshire, UK
- Children: 4 y.o. and 8 m.o. (a nanny supports with childcare)
- Pets: 1 Shar Pei
- Driving: Essential (having your own vehicle is preffered)
- Starting Date: ASAP (current employee has a 2 months notice period)
Duties will include:
- Daily housekeeping and cleaning duties to a high standard, including hoovering, dusting, mopping, surface and furniture care, and maintenance of common areas
- Regular deep cleaning and rotation of rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and converted annexed spaces (once weekly)
- Tidying and resetting the kitchen, dining room, and family living areas in the morning
- Dishwasher loading/unloading and kitchen upkeep
- Changing bedding twice weekly and managing household laundry and ironing (including children's clothing)
- Weekly food shopping, both in-store (local greengrocer) and managing online grocery deliveries
- Organisation of kitchen cupboards and maintaining a routine grocery list
- Preparation of well-balanced family meals following recipes (e.g. Joe Wicks), including lunches for the principal and family dinners
- Light pet care duties for the family dog, including feeding and letting her out in the mornings
- Managing waste and bin collection on appropriate days
- Occasional ad hoc errands and household support
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar private household role
- Strong references
- Confident, consistent cook familiar with healthy family-style meals and able to follow recipes precisely
- Reliable and trustworthy, with excellent time management and initiative
- Must have a valid UK driving licence and their own vehicle
- DBS check
- Fluent English speaker
