A warm and welcoming family based in the Trumpington area of Cambridge are searching for a professional and conscientious Housekeeper/Cook to join their household on a long-term basis. At present, the family consists of two principals, their three-year-old child, and a beloved dachshund who requires gentle daily care. Their current property is a spacious four-bedroom home with a garage and generous wardrobe space. In the future, the family will be relocating to Wimblington, Cambridgeshire, and they would be delighted to find a candidate prepared to move with them, ensuring continuity and stability within their household.
Trumpington is one of the most desirable residential areas of Cambridge, offering excellent transport links, well-regarded schools, and a friendly community atmosphere. This is a live-out position, and the area is well served by public transport, making commuting straightforward. Wimblington, their future location, is a picturesque village surrounded by the Cambridgeshire countryside. While not essential, holding a driving licence will be advantageous in the more rural setting.
The position of Housekeeper/Cook is a varied and rewarding one. The family are looking for someone who will take pride in maintaining their home to the highest possible standards. Daily duties will include full housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and colour-sorting of clothing, as well as the organisation of walk-in wardrobes and ensuring the property remains neat and welcoming at all times. There will also be occasional family cooking and simple meal preparation, along with light grocery shopping to ensure the kitchen is always well stocked.
As the family own a small collection of silver and the new home will feature marble and wood finishes, the successful candidate must be confident in caring for fine and delicate surfaces. A natural eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and an appreciation for discretion are all essential. Importantly, the housekeeper will also need to be child-friendly, supportive, and adaptable, able to maintain balance within a busy but harmonious household.

Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- Daily housekeeping of a four-bedroom property, ensuring all areas are clean, organised, and well presented
- Polishing silver and caring for marble, wood, and other fine finishes
- Laundry and ironing, including colour-sorting of garments and care of delicate fabrics
- Wardrobe management and organisation of walk-in wardrobes
- Occasional cooking and family meal preparation
- Grocery shopping and household provisioning as required
- Light pet care for an elderly dachshund
- Supporting a child- and family-friendly home environment
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- Minimum of 3 years’ private housekeeping/cooking experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Conversational English
- Legal right to work in the UK
