The household includes two adults, two children, and a much-loved Cocker Spaniel. The ideal candidate will be pet-friendly, friendly in nature, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. This is a hands-on role best suited to someone with initiative and an eye for detail.
This is a live-out position, easily accessible by public transport. Cambridge offers an exceptional quality of life, with its historic charm, vibrant markets, and abundant green spaces. The property is located in a well-connected residential area with reliable local bus and rail links, making the commute straightforward for candidates based nearby or in surrounding areas.
Working as a Housekeeper/Cook in a private household requires a discreet and capable individual with a genuine passion for service. You will be responsible for the smooth daily running of the household, ensuring it is always immaculate and well-organised. The role includes preparing nutritious, family-style evening meals (including gluten-free meals for one family member), maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home—particularly the wooden flooring and marble kitchen—and managing errands such as grocery shopping and placing online orders. Cooking for guests may be required on occasion, typically no more than once per month.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook:
- Full housekeeping duties including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping of wooden floors
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, particularly in the marble kitchen and family areas
- Daily laundry and ironing for the family
- Preparing family-style dinners each evening (gluten-free cooking for one family member)
- Occasional guest cooking (approximately once per month)
- Grocery shopping and placing household orders online
- Running errands and restocking household essentials
- General tidying and organising throughout the home
- Pet care for the family’s Cocker Spaniel, including walks
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
