We are seeking a responsible and adaptable housekeeper/cook who enjoys countryside living, possesses a positive outlook on life, is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and has a proactive hands-on approach, passionate about cooking healthy and nutritious meals. We expect the candidate to have a positive attitude towards teamwork, as the Estate employs other staff members. Perfect housekeeper/cook should exhibit high standards of service and possess a strong work ethic. A positive attitude towards feedback and instruction is also essential.
This role involves managing a home with many high-value items and surfaces, including antiques and wood floors, which require special care. You must be able to follow instructions precisely and manage tasks independently.
This position encompasses different housekeeping responsibilities, including cleaning and maintenance, laundry and wardrobe management, bed making and linen changes, polishing and dusting, general organisational tasks, cooking and other miscellaneous duties upon request.
We are looking for a candidate who is flexible with their work schedule, as the family visits the estate on weekends. This means your work week will include mandatory weekend hours.
We are seeking a candidate who is looking for a long-term position, as most of our staff have been with the family for many years.
This position is available on both a live-out and live-in basis. Applicants seeking a live-in arrangement will be provided with a private cottage on the Estate.

- Greeting guests
- Providing housekeeping to a very high standard.
- Overseeing laundry, knowledge of fine fabrics, linens etc.
- Wardrobe management and packing/unpacking for the principal
- Liaising with and overseeing contractors and suppliers, taking receipt of deliveries
- Service assistance at events
- Inventory management of artworks, furniture pieces etc.
- Flower arranging
- Deal quickly and responsibly with any issues that arise
- Running ad-hoc errands
- General cleaning
- Laundry service, including washing, drying, folding, and ironing bed linens and towels
- Vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising floors and surfaces
- Ensuring a well-organised and clutter-free living space
- Working with a high level of integrity and trustworthiness
- Reporting any shortages, damages, or security issues
- Changing bed linens and towels
- Washing and cleaning dishes
- Cooking health and nutritious meals
Requirements for this Full Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- 3 years of housekeeper experience
- Checkable references
- UK working permit
