Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a superb opportunity for a professional Full-Time Live-In Housekeeper/Cook to join a welcoming private family based in Newbridge, County Kildare. This elegant five-bedroom residence is arranged across three floors and features beautiful antiques, as well as extensive wood and copper finishes, requiring a knowledgeable and detail-oriented approach to housekeeping.
The household comprises four principals, three residing in the main house and one living in a separate flat on the grounds. The family values discretion, reliability and an organised, eco-conscious approach, with a clear preference for environmentally friendly cleaning products. Two well-loved dogs – an Australian Shepherd and a Bernese – are part of the household, therefore the Housekeeper/Cook must be comfortable working in a pet-friendly environment. County Kildare offers a pleasant countryside lifestyle while remaining within comfortable reach of Dublin.
This position will suit a professional, proactive and experienced Housekeeper/Cook who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards within a private residence. The role involves full housekeeping duties including detailed cleaning, careful maintenance of antiques and specialist surfaces, structured laundry and wardrobe management, and light cooking responsibilities. The Housekeeper will prepare one daily gluten-free meal for two to three family members in the afternoon. Once per week, the family entertains, typically hosting informal gatherings such as barbecues with salads and light dishes. On these occasions, the Housekeeper/Cook will either prepare food for up to 20 guests or assist with preparation and service.
A driving license would be considered a bonus due to the location. As this is a live-in position, excellent accommodation is provided. The Housekeeper/Cook will have a private bedroom with en-suite bathroom within the main residence. The family is happy for the Housekeeper/Cook to have occasional guests, provided this remains respectful of the household’s privacy and routine.

Main duties of the Housekeeper/ Cook:
- Full housekeeping of a five-bedroom property across three floors
- Daily cleaning, dusting and hoovering to an exceptionally high standard
- Specialist care of antiques, wooden surfaces and copper finishes
- Laundry management, ironing and wardrobe organisation
- Preparation of one daily gluten-free meal for two to three principals
- Assisting with or preparing food for weekly entertaining (up to 20 guests)
- Use of eco-friendly cleaning products in line with the family’s preferences
- Monitoring household supplies and reporting maintenance requirements
- Comfortable working around two family dogs, occasional basic pet care
Requirements for this Housekeeper/ Cook job:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- Valid EU work permit
