Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a rare opportunity for an experienced and versatile Domestic Helper to join a long-established, respectful private household based in Cheshire, near Manchester (WA15). This is a fully staffed residence comprising a Principals’ couple with a busy professional lifestyle, supported by a long-serving housekeeper, live-in cook and external gardeners. The family is known for its exceptional staff retention, with team members remaining in post for many years, reflecting a stable, fair and considerate working environment.
The role has become available due to the retirement of a loyal employee after 12 years of service.
This position would suit a proactive, hands-on and adaptable Domestic Helper who is comfortable combining driving, light maintenance and general household support duties. The successful candidate will not be a formal chauffeur, but rather a practical and grounded individual who takes pride in being useful, organised and attentive. The role requires flexibility, initiative and a willingness to assist wherever needed within the smooth day-to-day running of the household.
The property is located in Cheshire, within comfortable reach of Manchester city centre. Due to the nature of the duties, including driving the Principals and running errands, a full UK driving licence is essential.

Job Details:

Working Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm (with occasional agreed overtime)

The Duties Will Include:
- Daily driving duties for the Principals, including occasional airport transfers
- Vehicle management: fuelling, cleaning coordination, routine checks
- Running household errands (shopping, dry cleaning, supplies collection)
- Assisting with household logistics and practical support tasks
- Light external maintenance such as jet washing driveways and gates
- Monitoring swimming pool systems and general exterior upkeep
- Supporting the housekeeper and cook when required, including light kitchen assistance during events
- Basic property checks including security, bins and general order
- Occasional travel to the family’s residence in France (by agreement)
- Dog walking and light pet care for two small dogs
Minimal Requirements:
- Three or more years of private Domestic Helper / Houseman experience
- 2 excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- UK working permit
- Full UK driving licence
