Job Overview:
A high-net-worth family currently residing in Edgbaston, West Midlands, is seeking a long-term live-in governess to join their household on a full-time permanent basis. The family will be relocating to Tidbury Green, just outside Solihull, in March, and the successful candidate will continue with the household thereafter. This role is offered on a fully employed basis with standard paid holiday entitlement, providing long-term stability and a professional working environment.
The household comprises three children aged 16, 6, and 2, with possibly another baby on the way, however the governess will only be responsible for the elder children.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the children with their homework, conducting school runs, and helping to develop well-rounded, confident, and curious individuals. This requires establishing consistent routines, providing gentle guidance, and fostering creativity, playfulness, and a positive mindset. The family is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and friendly professional with a bubbly personality who is able to nurture the children while setting appropriate boundaries.
Accommodation is currently provided with a bedroom and shared bathroom. Following the family’s move to Tidbury Green, a separate bedroom with en suite bathroom will be available. In the months following, the family will refurbish the guesthouse on the estate to provide dedicated accommodation for the governess, including a private bathroom, living area, and kitchen. The household does not have any pets.
The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving license for school runs and errands, with an automatic vehicle provided. Non-smokers only. Fluency in English is essential, with knowledge of additional languages considered a strong advantage. Flexibility to work occasional weekends is expected.

Main duties of the Full-Time Governess:
- Assisting older children with homework and academic support
- Planning and leading developmental, educational, and creative activities
- Conducting school runs safely and punctually
- Establishing routines and age-appropriate guidance
- Fostering a stimulating, playful, and nurturing environment
- Encouraging creativity, curiosity, and lifelong learning
- Supporting the family with childcare as needed, including weekends
Requirements for this Full -Time Governess job:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in HNW/UHNW households
- Excellent checkable references
- UK working permit
- Full UK driving licence
- Non-smoker
- Excellent spoken and written English; additional languages are a bonus
