PART-TIME GOVERNESS JOB
MILLBANK | LONDON | GB
Salary: based on qualifications
Job Type: Live-Out, Part-Time, Permanent

Job Overview:
Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a highly qualified, nurturing, and experienced Governess to join a warm and well-structured private household located in Millbank, London. The family comprises two adult principals and their two young children aged 4 and 6, within a fully staffed home environment. They are seeking a professional with strong emotional intelligence, a calm and caring approach, and a genuine passion for child development.
A fundamental requirement for this role is proven, hands-on experience supporting young children with speech delay, with demonstrable successful outcomes, as this is the primary focus of the position. The ideal candidate will bring extensive educational experience, ideally as a former teacher with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is a long-term position where the Governess will become a trusted and consistent presence in the children’s lives, fostering both educational progress and emotional wellbeing in a supportive and engaging environment.
This is a permanent, part-time, live-out position based in central London, with excellent transport links making the property easily accessible for commuting. The schedule is set across four weekdays from 15:30 to 19:00 and Saturdays from 13:00 to 19:00, aligning with the children’s return from school and evening routine. The role focuses on educational support, including homework assistance, structured developmental activities, and targeted speech and language work. The successful candidate will work alongside an existing nanny, taking a more education-focused approach while maintaining a warm and structured environment. Additional skills such as musical ability, languages, or sports coaching would be highly valued and can be incorporated into the children’s development.
Working as a Governess in this household involves a strong focus on supporting the children’s academic progress, communication skills, and overall development. Responsibilities include assisting with homework, planning and delivering structured, age-appropriate educational activities, and implementing effective strategies to support speech and language development, particularly for the younger child. The role requires building a genuine rapport with both children, encouraging confidence, curiosity, and positive behaviour, while maintaining clear communication with the parents.
