Perfect Household Staff is proud to present a new opportunity for a professional Gardener to support a lovely, respectful couple residing in the countryside of Devon. The family home consists of a beautifully maintained 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom main house and a charming 3-bedroom guest cottage, occasionally used for guests and soon to be converted into an Airbnb. While the property is pet-free at present, the couple are planning to introduce animals in the future, including cats, chickens, and potentially donkeys. The surrounding area is peaceful, picturesque, and ideal for candidates who thrive in a rural setting. Given the countryside location, a full UK driving licence is essential.
This is a fantastic part-time live-out position for an experienced and reliable Gardener seeking long-term employment in a private household. The role offers 12–16 hours per week, ideally spread over either three half days (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9am–1/2pm) or two full days.
Working in a private estate environment involves a wide variety of indoor and outdoor responsibilities. You will be responsible for lawn care, border and bed maintenance, pruning, weed control, composting, and light tree maintenance, alongside basic home repairs and upkeep of the driveway, paths, and patio. As the household expands to include pets, animal care duties will also be introduced.

Job Details:

Typical Duties Will Include:
- Mowing, edging, feeding and aerating lawns
- Seasonal planting, pruning, and weeding of borders and beds
- Hedge and shrub shaping, light tree pruning and disease monitoring
- Driveway, path and patio care, including washing and clearing debris
- Greenhouse care and seasonal planter maintenance
- Green waste disposal and composting
- Wildlife- and sustainability-conscious practices (e.g. pollinator plants, irrigation upkeep)
- Coordination with external landscapers and specialists as required
- Light handyman tasks: fixing drawers, basic appliance repair, door adjustments
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of private Gardener and/or Handyperson experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Full UK driving licence
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Non-smoker
