This role would suit an experienced, practical, and genuinely grounded Domestic Helper who understands the nuances and expectations of working within a private household setting, who takes quiet pride in being useful, attentive, and thoroughly reliable, and who naturally operates with discretion, professionalism, and respect for family boundaries.
The successful candidate will be someone who knows instinctively how to conduct themselves within a high-calibre private residence — following clear instructions with care and precision, maintaining absolute confidentiality, and adapting seamlessly to the rhythms and routines of the household without the need for micromanagement. This is not a formal chauffeur role, but rather a versatile, hands-on position for a proactive and adaptable individual who is comfortable combining driving responsibilities, light property maintenance, and general household support duties with ease and efficiency.
A full UK driving licence is absolutely essential, as the role involves regularly driving the Principals in their luxury vehicles, running household errands, and managing all vehicle-related logistics. Experience driving high-end or luxury vehicles is strongly preferred, and the successful candidate must be comfortable maintaining these vehicles to an immaculate standard at all times. The family may require the successful candidate to wear a uniform for certain duties, and the right individual will be entirely comfortable accommodating this professional presentation requirement without hesitation.

Working Hours: 30-35 hours a week

Location: Hale Barns, Altrincham, Cheshire
Starting Date: ASAP
- Driving the Principals on a daily basis in the family's vehicles, including occasional airport transfers and longer journeys as required
- Managing all vehicle-related logistics — including fuelling, coordinating professional cleaning and valeting, conducting routine checks, and ensuring vehicles are maintained to an immaculate standard
- Running all household errands — including grocery shopping, dry cleaning collection and delivery, and supply replenishment
- Providing practical household logistics support and general assistance wherever needed within the smooth day-to-day running of the residence
- Conducting light external property maintenance — including jet washing driveways and gates, and ensuring all exterior areas remain beautifully presented
- Monitoring swimming pool systems and managing general exterior upkeep and property maintenance
- Supporting the housekeeper and cook when required — including light kitchen assistance during entertaining or events
- Conducting routine property checks — security, bins, general order, and ensuring all household systems are functioning correctly
- Walking and providing light care for the family's two small dogs
- Operating with complete discretion, professionalism, and respect for family privacy and boundaries
- Following clear instructions with care and precision, and maintaining absolute confidentiality throughout
- Demonstrating a naturally proactive attitude — identifying tasks that need completing and taking initiative without being asked
- 3+ years of private Domestic Helper, Houseman, or Driver
- Two excellent, checkable references from previous private employers
- Naturally proactive, hands-on, and adaptable working style
- Fluent English
- Valid right to work in the United Kingdom
- Full UK driving licence
- DBS check
