Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Live-In Domestic Couple to join the private estate of a distinguished principal located in Glenborrodale, West Highlands, Scotland. This permanent, long-term appointment is ideally suited to a professional, practical and self-sufficient couple seeking stability within a rural environment.
The estate is occupied by the principal and family approximately twice per year. During these periods, the household will require full service support, detailed preparation and a proactive, guest-focused approach. Outside of occupancy periods, the Domestic Couple will assume complete responsibility for ensuring that the estate remains secure, impeccably maintained and fully operational at all times. This includes ongoing housekeeping, preventative maintenance, monitoring of utilities, management of contractors and general estate oversight. The principals are seeking a trustworthy couple who will treat the property with pride and long-term commitment, acting as reliable guardians of the home in their absence.
The role requires excellent organisational ability, practical problem-solving skills and a high level of discretion. The successful couple must be comfortable working independently for extended periods and confident managing responsibilities without direct supervision. Separate private accommodation is provided on the estate, offering privacy and independence.

Job Details:

Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 gross per annum (combined)
Working Days: 5 days per week (flexibility required during family visits)
Working Hours: 40
Accommodation: Separate private flat provided

Driving Licence: At least one member of the couple must hold a full, clean driving licence and be confident driving a manual vehicle
Main duties of the Domestic Couple:
Housekeeping Responsibilities (One Partner)
- Full care, cleaning and presentation of the residence to high private household standards
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe management, including linen care
- Deep cleaning and seasonal rotation as required
- Preparation of all bedrooms and guest areas ahead of family visits
- Monitoring household supplies and managing inventories
- Ensuring the residence remains guest-ready throughout the year
Maintenance & Estate Responsibilities (Second Partner)
- General property maintenance and hands-on handyman duties
- Routine inspections to ensure the estate remains fully operational
- Preventative maintenance and minor repairs
- Liaising with and supervising contractors and service providers
- Basic grounds upkeep and seasonal property preparation
- Management of utilities, refuse and general estate organisation
- Responsibility for security and regular property checks during unoccupied periods
Requirements for this Domestic Couple job:
- Minimum five years of relevant experience
- Excellent checkable references
- Fluent English
- Full, clean driving licence (manual vehicle) for at least one partner
