This is a permanent, full-time position available on either a live-in or live-out basis, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing an excellent work-life balance within a highly organised and respectful household setting.
The role is ideally suited to a professional couple who take pride in maintaining high standards and can work independently with confidence, particularly as the principals are away for extended periods throughout the year. A good command of English is required for effective communication and the smooth running of the household.
The household is occupied by two adults, with only one bedroom and bathroom in regular use, although the property itself is a spacious multi-level residence finished with high-quality natural materials, including wood, stone, and marble. The housekeeping duties will involve maintaining immaculate cleanliness throughout the home, with careful attention to these specialist surfaces, alongside comprehensive laundry care and wardrobe management. While the wardrobe is not of a high-profile nature, a strong understanding of garment care, including reading and following care labels and managing occasional dry cleaning, is essential. No cooking is required for this role.
In addition to the main residence, there are three well-appointed guest cottages within the grounds, each comprising one bedroom and two bathrooms. These are used only occasionally throughout the year and require light maintenance and upkeep rather than full housekeeping service, ensuring they remain presentable and ready for use when needed.
The gardening responsibilities encompass the upkeep of approximately five acres of beautifully structured grounds, including lawns, borders, hedging, and a greenhouse. Despite its size, the garden is thoughtfully organised and manageable. The role focuses on maintaining order and presentation rather than undertaking extensive planting, as the vegetable garden is already managed by the principals and additional support. A proactive and detail-oriented approach to groundskeeping is highly valued.
There are three resident dogs—two spaniels and one golden retriever—however, they travel with the principals and are not present at the property when the principals are away. While no formal pet care is required, very occasional assistance may be appreciated when the dogs are in residence. Due to the nature of the dogs, it is preferred that the successful couple do not bring their own pets.
This position offers a high level of autonomy, particularly during periods when the principals are not in residence, and therefore requires a trustworthy and self-managing couple who can maintain the property and grounds to an excellent standard at all times. When the principals are in residence, there will be a slightly increased focus on housekeeping duties.
For candidates seeking a live-in arrangement, a spacious and private cottage within the grounds will be provided, featuring a separate entrance, dedicated parking, and the flexibility to host personal guests. An excellent salary package of £80,000 to £100,000 gross per annum is offered, depending on experience, alongside a formal contract. The position includes four weeks of annual leave plus an additional two weeks over the Christmas period, as well as bank holidays, offering approximately six weeks of leave per year.

Main duties of the Full-Time Domestic Couple: Housekeeping Duties:
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the main residence, including daily and periodic deep cleaning Caring for specialist surfaces such as natural wood, stone, and marble using appropriate products and techniques Managing laundry, ironing, and fabric care in accordance with garment care labels Undertaking wardrobe management, including organising, storing, and maintaining clothing to a high standard Ensuring bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas are consistently well-presented and guest-ready Monitoring and replenishing household supplies as required Maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of guest cottages, ensuring they are prepared for occasional use Performing seasonal and rotational cleaning tasks across multiple floors of the property Liaising with external dry cleaners when necessary Gardening Duties:
